 Father Andrew G. George |
Father Andrew G. George was born and raised in Monessen, PA. His greek ancestry is from the island of Rhodes. He is a graduate of Hellenic College and Holy Cross Seminary with a Master's Degree in Theology.
During his seminary years, he served as president of his class for two different years, as secretary of the student body and as president of the student body. He served as head chapel sacristan for 5 years, religious editor of the student newspaper and was on the staff of the Hellenic College yearbook. He also produced and directed radio programs for the seminary's "Contemplate Radio Show" aired at that time on Boston's WROR FM.
Upon graduation from Holy Cross, he served at various positions of church work in the USA and was with the Ionian Village staff in Greece. During this time, he served as a lay-assistant to the parish in Toledo, Ohio, administrated the parish of St. Spyridon, Monessen, PA in a 6 month interim of the assignment of a priest for the parish, served on the staff of St. Basil's Academy in Garrison, NY and served as priest's assistant at the parish in Rochester, NY.
He was married to the former Maria Voulgarakis of Wierton, WV, ordained to the diaconate on Sept. 18, 1977 in Monessen, PA and ordained a priest on Nov. 5, 1977 in Rochester, NY.
His first parish assignment was to the St. George Church of Bangor, ME, which he served for 5 1/2 years. He has been pastor of the Church of the Annunciation since March 1, 1983.
Fr. Andrew & Presbytera Maria have 2 children, Anthony Nektarios (1978) and Kassiane Elene (1982).

Rev. Dr. Emanuel S. Chris, MD, M. Div, is a Psychiatrist and an ordained Greek Orthodox Priest. He is a Cum Laude graduate of Columbia College in 1980 and of the Albany Medical College in 1986. Dr. Chris completed his training in Psychiatry at the New England Medical Center Hospital and at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs in Boston in 1990. Dr. Chris has worked in both the public and private sectors as a Clinical Psychiatrist and as an Administrator of Hospitals and Health Care Systems, and was on the faculties of both the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, and the Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry. He left from Administrative Medicine to pursue his calling to the Priesthood, and attended seminary in May 2005, while working as a Psychiatrist in private practice. Fr. Emanuel was ordained by Metropolitan Methodios to the Diaconate on 26 September 2004, and to the Priesthood on 17 July 2005.
Rev. Dr. Chis is currently assigned as the second priest at the Church of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Parish of Greater Providence in Cranston, RI since August 2005, and continues in his private practice of Psychiatry in Walpole, MA.
Fr. Emanuel is married to Presbytera Evangelia Chris, who is a Clinical Social Worker at the Worcester State Hospital; they live in Mansfield, MA, and have two children, a daughter Elina who is a sophomore at Providence College,
and a son Nicholas who is a junior at Mansfield High School.
